Executive Committee
Mr. Guna Kumar Shrestha is a Member of Executive Committee of NEST. He has 26+ years of experience in development sector. As a profession, he is an Agriculturist and Plant Doctor. He has received a wide range of training in agricultural sector: post-harvest management, community resilient building, approaches and methods in organic production and marketing, TOT on organic agriculture, integrated pest management, cooperative management and leadership training. In addition, he has participated an organic farming seminar in Switzerland and an observation tour in Bangladesh. As a result, he has gained a high-quality knowledge and skill in the field of organic production, management and resilient building. He is always keen to learn and to try out new things.
He started his career as an Agriculture Teacher at secondary school. Then, he was employed by different organizations in different capacities. He employed as Homestead Food Production Marketing Officer at SUAAHARA II, Program Coordinator at Machhapuchchhre Development Organization, Program Coordinator at UMN / RDC and Site Office in-Charge at Team Organizing Local Institution (TOLI). He was Program Coordinator at NEST for seven years.
Mr Shrestha holds a BSc and ISc in Agriculture from the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science, Rampur Nepal, and a School Leaving Certificate from Shree Amar Jyoti Secondary School, Gorkha Nepal.
