Micro Enterprise Development for Poverty Alleviation (MEDPA) Program

NEST as a development organization is dedicated to uplift socio-economic status and dignity of poor and socially excluded people through skill transfer, implementing social and community development program and project, community mobilization, capacity development, researching and advocacy. NEST programs bridges the power of markets and knowledge to boost incomes and employment opportunities. Utilizing a market-driven and collaborative approach, NEST work with governments, national and international development agencies, CBOs, CSOs and the private sector to train target groups and create economic opportunity so that communities can benefit from economic growth.

Improved Cookstove Training and Installation

NEST has been working for livelihood improvements through off-grid energy solutions and climate change mitigation and in fact protecting natural resources, adopting climate change mitigation approach, and promoting long-term economic well-being and health of remote and underserved communities. In addition to these, NEST’s approach empowers local communities, governments, civil society and the private sector, providing them technical and managerial support along with the information needed for the sustainable development.

Home Gardening Training and Increasing Productivity

Experts have been warning that, in future, either severe droughts or heavy rainfall floods associated with climate change will become more usual. NEST with communities to develop and implement strategies that boost food production and are resilient in the face of a changing climate. In order to adapt to the increasingly frequent droughts and intense storms that result from climate change, farmers must adapt the crops they grow and the practices they use. For example, NEST experience tackling challenges like increasing agricultural productivity, effective ways of agriculture and livestock, and seed selection are benefit to the local people as local communities work to develop agricultural systems resilient to climate change.
