Mr. Prem Prakash Sharma Gautam is a member of NEST Executive Committee. He started public service in 1974 as a Technical Assistant (Animal Husbandry) and served his way up the organization. Then, he was promoted to the post of Livestock Development Officer, Regional Officer (Under Secretary), and Training Chief (Under Secretary) at Government of Nepal Department of Livestock Regional Livestock Training Center in Pokhara Nepal. In addition, he has served as a Senior Consultant for livestock management service.
As a livestock expert, he has facilitated a number of livestock management, poultry, dairy and social mobilization training including long-term and short-term livestock service related training. He was the head of overall administrative and financial management and operations of Regional Livestock Training Center in Pokhara. He was responsible to plan, manage, and monitor livestock related activities and mobilize human resources for the facilitation of livestock training. In addition, as a Senior Consultant, he undertook designing, facilitation and reporting of animal husbandry, poultry farming, pig production, goat production, cattle production and feed management related training in different districts for different groups. He has gained specialized knowledge and skills in the sector of livestock management.
Mr. Gautam holds a Masters’ Degree in Sociology from Tribhuvan University Nepal, and a Bachelors in Agriculture (Honors in Animal Sciences) from Panjab Agricultural University, India (Under the scholarship of USAID), 1986.
