WATER, SANITATION AND ENGINEERING UNIT (WATSAN)
The Water, Sanitation and Engineering Unit (WATSAN) of NEST works entirely in the field of the water and sanitation sector and has been an integral part of this organization. WATSAN has been providing its services to the needy rural people in the area of training, consultancy, construction and supervision.
It also provides training on social mobilization and water system management training. At present, its major focus has gone to behavior change of people in personal hygiene, household and environmental sanitation.
WATSAN adopts participants’ friendly full practical training methods where entire trainees including illiterate men/women can find good learning environment.
Achievement 2065/66
WATSAN has experienced a good achievement in year 2065/66. It has got an opportunity to develop long-term partnership with RVWRMP to work in far-west region for different water and sanitation related trainings.
It was able to conduct 34 trainings, out of which:
- 3 were in Full Scholarship
- 31 were in Partial Scholarship approaches
A total of 533 trainees were trained, covering 4120 (25%) of the total trainee-days achievement.
